NorthBay received ‘high performance’ rankings for excellent care in eight adult care procedures including cardiology and obstetrics & gynecology.

NorthBay was recognized in U.S. News & World Report’s annual hospital study as a top regional hospital. These rankings also place NorthBay Medical Center as the number one hospital in Solano County.

U.S. News evaluated nearly 5,000 hospitals across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions; only 11% of evaluated hospitals earned a Best Hospitals ranking. Hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, level of nursing care, and patient experience.

“At NorthBay Health, we are constantly evolving and expanding our services to meet our patients' diverse needs. Our physicians, nurses, and medical staff are dedicated to the best patient experience possible and the recognition in this latest U.S. News and World Report Best Hospital ranking underscores this commitment,” said Mark Behl, Chief Executive Officer of NorthBay Health. “We look forward to continuing to provide high quality, accessible, and compassionate care throughout Solano County and the broader North Bay region.”

“For 35 years, U.S. News has been a leading resource for patients navigating their health care decisions,” said Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News. “A 'Best Hospital' recognition empowers patients to seek out medical care from the best of the best to treat their illness or condition.”

The assessment includes data from NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield and NorthBay VacaValley. According to U.S. News and World Report, NorthBay Medical Center is categorized as a hospital that consistently delivers high quality care for specific medical procedures and is ranked as “high performing” in eight areas including:

  • Heart attack treatment
  • Heart failure treatment
  • Kidney failure treatment
  • Stroke treatment
  • Maternity care (uncomplicated pregnancy)
  • Hip fracture treatment
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease treatment
  • Pneumonia treatment

This is the third year in a row that NorthBay Health has been identified as high performing for uncomplicated pregnancy in maternity care. The ranking highlights NorthBay’s unwavering commitment to closing regional gaps in maternity care and addressing critical needs throughout North Bay’s communities.

This year, U.S. News and World Report introduced additional methodology to identify the 2024-2025 Best Regional Hospitals for Equitable Access. As a result, NorthBay Health Medical Center was recognized as one of 98 distinguished, high-quality hospitals dedicated to providing healthcare services to those in underserved or vulnerable situations.
