Are You Interested in a Nursing Career?

Spend three days this summer experiencing the work nurses do. You'll be glad you did!

Nurse Camp is returning this year to invite local high school students to come together at NorthBay Health facilities to experience the world of Nursing. This program is meant to help students learn about nursing and decide if it's the career they want to pursue.

A group of high school students prepare to practice inserting IVs into oranges at NorthBay Health's Nurse Camp.

About our Program

Our camp provides a first-hand look at the nursing profession through the use of on-site demonstrations, hands-on skills labs, interactive presentations, observation of actual patient/nurse interactions, and many other learning activities. Nurses from various hospital and outpatient units collaborate with community groups to provide the "campers" with three days of immersion into the world of nursing.

Nurse Camp provides:

  • Hands-on experience for students exploring nursing as a career
  • Access to nursing staff as role models and to ask questions in a non-threatening environment
  • Exposure for students from health-care studies to the acute care environment of the hospital
