New CIO Will Start in January

Christopher T. Timbers is NorthBay Health's new vice president and chief information officer, effective Jan. 5, 2015. Timbers has an extensive background in information technology, according to NorthBay Health President and CEO Gary Passama.

"Chris is currently serving as interim vice president and chief information officer of the community hospital division of the prestigious Johns Hopkins Health System in Maryland and the District of Columbia. In that role he is overseeing the information technology integration of three community hospitals affiliated with Johns Hopkins-Suburban Hospital, Sibley Memorial Hospital and Howard County General Hospital." Timbers is also serving as CIO for Suburban Hospital.

Prior to joining Suburban in March 2008, he worked for Perot Systems for seven years, leading a team responsible for system implementations at the Daughters of Charity Health System and Catholic Healthcare West.

Timbers has also held the positions of director of strategic projects for Catholic Healthcare West and director of Information Systems for Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the California Polytechnic State University.

He succeeds Paul Alcala who will retire on Dec. 31.
