NorthBay Health Gala Raises Record-Breaking Over $1 Million to Advance Local Healthcare

NorthBay Health hosted its highly anticipated annual gala last weekend, transforming the evening into a “Magical Night” that brought together friends, supporters, and community partners to celebrate the power of giving.
The evening brought together more than 300 guests — from physicians and nurses to community partners, elected officials, and long-time supporters — all united by a shared commitment to exceptional local health care. Before attendees even entered the ballroom, the event had already generated more than $730,000 through 33 sponsorships and ticket sales, led by Discovery Builders’ $250,000 gift.
“What makes NorthBay Health unique is that our growth is fueled by community partnerships and the support of those who believe in keeping care local,” said Mark Behl, President and CEO of NorthBay Health. “Every investment we make — in technology, in people, in facilities — is driven by a simple promise: to deliver world-class care right here at home. The momentum from tonight helps us move faster toward that future.”
One of the evening’s most moving moments came when former patient Debbie Garfield, 66, took the stage after a powerful video chronicled her lifesaving experience at NorthBay Health. Debbie was reunited with her care team — from the 911 dispatcher to her surgeons — in an emotional standing-ovation moment that underscored how donor generosity directly saves lives.
“For 65 years, NorthBay Health has stood as an independent, community-driven health system,” said Mark Sievers, Chair of the NorthBay Health Board of Directors. “Events like this reinforce the partnerships that make our mission possible. Together, we are ensuring NorthBay Health remains strong, sustainable, and ready to serve the next generation.”
Later in the program, NorthBay Health Foundation President Paul McGinty shared how the evening’s contributions will fund technologies that bring those stories of survival to life.
“Every dollar raised tonight has a purpose,” said Paul McGinty, President of the NorthBay Health Foundation. “Your generosity directly funds the technology and equipment that save lives — from neonatal care in our NICU to cutting-edge trauma and cardiac innovations, advanced cancer treatment through our new linear accelerator, and the robotic surgery tools that help patients heal faster and return home sooner. These are not abstract investments — they are lifelines that turn hope into healing for families right here in our community.”
The event’s live auction and “Fund the Need” appeal drew enthusiastic participation, leading to nearly $400k raised, pushing the total for the event to over $1 Million.
Proceeds will directly support investments in leading-edge clinical technology, patient care programs, and services that expand access to quality health care across Solano, Yolo, and Napa counties.
