Meet Dr. Mark Villalon,
Senior Vice President of Integration & Transformation and Chief Medical Officer of NorthBay Hospital and VacaValley Hospital
Dr. Mark Villalon serves as NorthBay Health’s Senior Vice President of Integration & Transformation and Chief Medical Officer of NorthBay Hospital and VacaValley Hospital.
He provides executive leadership for clinical operations, physician engagement, quality, service line strategy, and system integration initiatives across NorthBay Health’s hospitals, medical foundation, and ambulatory network. In addition to his executive responsibilities, Dr. Villalon continues to practice as an interventional cardiologist and serves as Co-Director of Structural Heart Programs.
Throughout his career, Dr. Villalon has held numerous physician leadership roles, including Chief of Staff, Vice Chief of Staff, and Vice President of Strategic Service Lines. He has led initiatives focused on physician alignment, clinical integration, quality improvement, access to care, and the strategic growth of specialty service lines. His leadership has helped advance NorthBay Health’s vision of delivering exceptional, patient-centered care while expanding access to advanced cardiovascular and specialty services throughout the region.
Dr. Villalon is recognized for his commitment to clinical excellence, physician leadership development, and the transformation of healthcare delivery models that improve patient outcomes, operational performance, and community health.
He earned his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Medicine fellowship at Boston University Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Villalon is board certified in cardiovascular disease and Interventional Cardiology and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
