A number of Girl Scout troops, ranging from Daisys to Cadettes in Fairfield, Suisun City, Green Valley and Cordelia, teamed up to celebrate National Girl Scout Day in a special way. The girls assembled gift baskets featuring special Girl Scout onesies, blankets, chocolates — and of course — Girl Scout cookies, with the idea of presenting the baskets to the first family to give Daisy Hannah Hanes of Troop 30088 in Fairfield poses with baby “Treasure,” who was born just hours after the Girl Scouts official birthday of March 12.birth on March 12.

Only problem was that the only mom in labor with a baby girl didn’t actually deliver until March 13. Close enough, decided the Girl Scouts. Troop leaders Vanessa Hobbs, Erin Hanes and Angela Borchart all came to NorthBay Medical Center to help with the presentations. Treasure was born at 5:02 a.m. on March 13. As one additional gift, the troops have offered to pay for Treasure’s first year in scouting, when she turns 5.
