HealthSpring’s Donor Happy to Save Lives

Pam Moore, front desk receptionist with NorthBay HealthSpring Fitness, has donated 60 pints of blood in her lifetime — and she’s nowhere close to finished.

“Since one pint can save three lives, I figure I’ve saved 180 lives with my donations through the years,” she said with pride.

Pam has agreed to serve as one of NorthBay Health’s 2019 blood drive champions to call attention to the constant need for blood.

“I’ve been giving since I was 17, when one of my girlfriends in high school got into a wreck and needed blood. It was then I realized what an impact it was to help and donate.”

It is estimated that every three seconds, someone needs blood.

“We live in a world that needs a lot of blood, so to me it would be selfish to not donate while I am able and healthy,” she said. “It’s such a small thing I can do to help others in need.”

Pam is already putting up the Blood Drive posters in the lobby of HealthSpring Fitness, and getting out the message that it’s not too early to book your appointment online. That way you won’t have to wait long on donation day.

Just visit www.bloodsource.org/drives and enter location code H101.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Friday, April 26 in the conference facility at the VacaValley Wellness Center, 1020 Nut Tree Road. Enter through the HealthSpring Fitness lobby.

All participants will receive a promo code that may be redeemed for a Save The Humans T-shirt.
