Our breast cancer treatment center offers patients diagnosed with breast cancer the latest in technology and treatments within a supportive environment led by a caring team of specialists — close to home.

Advanced Diagnostics for Early Diagnosis

Advances in treatment, earlier detection and cancer genetics mean that women who receive a diagnosis of breast cancer are able to experience healthier and longer lives. Our advanced breast cancer diagnostic capabilities rely on sophisticated imaging services, including breast MRI as well as digital and 3-D Mammography. Our highly trained staff are committed to early and accurate diagnosis of breast abnormalities and aim to be your partner through the process.

This video goes over Chrystina's story as a Breast Cancer patient of NorthBay Health.

A mammogram led Chrystina Collins, busy mom and registered nurse, into the care of oncologist Brian Vikstrom, M.D., and oncoplastic surgeon Jason Marengo, M.D.

Collaborative Approach to Treatment

When you receive a breast cancer diagnosis, the many treatment options can be overwhelming. The NorthBay Breast Cancer team is here to guide you along on each step of your treatment plan. Our experts including surgeons, oncologists, radiologists and pathologists will design a unique treatment plan specifically for you. Our oncology nurse navigators are here to support you and your family through the often complex process of diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Our goal is to get you well by offering access to the most promising treatments available in a compassionate and supportive environment.

Leading-edge Treatment

Our team of cancer specialists work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan specific to your diagnosis. In addition to active participation in cancer clinical trials through a cooperative arrangement with the Stanford University Cancer Center and the Cancer Trials Support Unit, you will have access to innovative cancer therapy and treatment options including oncoplastic breast surgery.

Oncoplastic Surgery

Oncoplastic breast surgery combines breast cancer surgery with the latest plastic surgery techniques to offer you the most effective way to preserve and reconstruct breast tissue.

Oncoplastic breast surgery is a good option for women facing either lumpectomy or mastectomy. Recent advances now allow for immediate breast reconstruction, sometimes even in the same operation as the breast cancer surgery. When possible, the nipple and areola are conserved and realigned as well. Both breasts are modified to create symmetry.
